At My Black Dog, we’re excited to highlight the incredible fundraising efforts of Debra, who had taken on an extraordinary challenge to support our charity and Flying Scholarships for Disabled People (FSDP). Debra was inspired to do this after meeting Abi Evans, a remarkable young woman with a story that touched her heart.

Abi was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in 2020, a condition that left her wheelchair-bound and reliant on a feeding tube. Despite this, Abi’s dream of becoming a pilot didn’t fade. In 2022, she applied to Flying Scholarships for Disabled People, and it transformed her life. Abi is now working towards her Private Pilot’s License, showing others that no matter the challenge, they can "DO WHAT YOU CAN’T."

Deeply moved by Abi’s courage and determination, Debra decided to raise funds by taking on the Race Across Scotland (RAS), a gruelling 215-mile race that must be completed in just 100 hours. For Debra, this challenge is a way to give back and help others facing their own battles, just as Abi has done.

Through this effort, Debra is supporting both FSDP and My Black Dog, a charity close to Abi’s heart that provides free online mental health support. Every donation will help these two incredible organisations continue their life-changing work.

Debra’s strength and determination are inspiring, and we are proud to support her in this epic challenge. Join us in cheering her on and consider donating to help make a difference.
